Refund policy

Return & Replacement Policy 
Effective 2 July 2026 

At The Dorm Shop, every kit is measured and packed for a specific dorm, and most of what we sell is personal, close-contact bedding and toiletry items. For hygiene reasons these cannot be resold once they have been delivered and opened. Because of this, we do not accept returns or exchanges for a change of mind, the wrong size, or an item not being what you had in mind. We do stand fully behind the product, and if something is wrong with your order because of us, we will make it right. 

1.  When we'll replace or refund 
We will replace or refund an item if it reached you damaged in transit, has a manufacturing defect, or is not the item you ordered. 

2.  How to raise a claim 
Message us on WhatsApp at +91 92116 92979 or email admin@thedormshop.in within 48 hours of delivery. Include your order ID and a clear photo or short video of the problem, taken as you open the parcel if possible. We cannot process a claim without proof of the issue, or one raised after this window has closed. 

3.  Condition of the item 
To be eligible, the item must be unused, unwashed, and in its original packaging with tags intact. Once we have confirmed your claim, we will arrange a pickup at no cost to you. 

4.  Refunds 
Our first step is always a replacement. If we cannot replace the item, we will refund you to your original payment method within 7 working days of the returned item reaching us and passing inspection. 

5.  Items we can't take back 
Opened toiletries, and any used bedding, towels, or pillows, cannot be returned once opened. The 
same applies to any item missing its original packaging. The only exception is the damaged, 
defective, or wrong-item cases described above. 

6.  Your consumer rights 
Nothing in this policy limits the rights available to you under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and other applicable Indian law. This policy sets out how we handle returns for hygiene-sensitive goods; it does not remove your statutory protections for defective, damaged, or misdescribed products.
